Sweet chestnuts gathered in the woodland in autumn 2021 were planted in pots, sprouted and grew in 2022. In Apr 2023 the whips flushed out ready to put on height and girth during the 2023 growing season.

This is a good, very easy, cost free way to repopulate a woodland with home grown stock that should grow well in their parental environment.
