Rachel Johnson is an ex Ben Law apprentice and in 2020 has built and raised a smaller garden version of Ben's Grand Design's award winning round wood cruck frame. The main frame is made from coppice grown sweet chestnut with the deck and rafters being made of softwood. Girl Power !

A bout of sunshine has seen progress being made to fit the roof and floor to the roundwood timber-frame. The main beams are now bolted together enabling the load straps to be removed.

The Oxfordshire Woodland Group are delighted to congratulate Rachel Johnson upon receiving The Prince of Wales award as the top student on The Woodland Heritage Woodland to Workshop course.

We look forward to working with Rachel when Covod19 is behind us !

It's worth zooming in to see the smiles on the participants faces.

Clearly working in the woods is an "uplifting" experience. Hallelujah !
