The 1910 Manor Houses of England by P H Ditchfield contains an illustration by S R Jones of No 67, The Causeway, Steventon where a date of 1657 is ascribed. Recent dendro dating has established a date for parts of this house to be from the late 1290’s.

This house still exists and in is in good repair.

The 1887 "Eviction" painting by Blandford Fletcher provides an insight into the previous configuration of no 67 and especially it's relationship with the adjacent present day no 71 which was split into multiple occupancy at that time.

This picture is very moving and echoes present day happenings elsewhere in the world.
