After prolongued heavy rain at the end of September 2015 a downed silver birch log has sprung into life sporting many yellow fungii probably Sulphur Tuft [Hypholoma fasciculare].

In the root plate a single large mushroom is present that might be either Blusher Mushroom [Amanita Rubescens] or Deer Shild [Pluteus Cervinus]

Underneath the log a cornice of yellow mushrooms sprout

In order to obtain an accurate identification it is essential to obtain a good underside photo so that gill type can be examined to confirm identification.
