If part of the land that you own is covered by a Highways Dedication Agreement then providing that you have a good reason to contest that this is no longer valid and / or applicable then it is possible to apply for a Stopping up Order.

The bad news is that this process can take about 9 months through the national planning system together largely due to all of the internal and external agency checks and notices that need to be made by both the applicant and all other agencies involved.
