Whilst hedgelaying a small movement on the ground attracted the attention of the hedgelayers and closer inspection revealed a little frog trying to take cover under a log.

The prickly holly leaves do not seem to provide a nice place for the frogs soft feet and underbelly but this year (2014) we have seen many of our little green friends in the woodland dispelling the myth that frogs only live in ponds.
