The west end gable of the church at Hartley Wespall, North Hampshire is staggering both in it's design a timber proportions employed.

This is a fairly unique building dating from the early 1300's [dd 1335-64] (Miles, 2010). The very large cusped bracing shown has had a plank suface applied to repair and restore the top suface of the solid cusped brace timbers lieing beneath.

The repair and restoration of the west gable of Hartley Wespall church is fully described in a Bournemouth University research paper (Hume, 2005) that includes appendices by the late (2008) John Warne (quinquennial church architect) and the late (2021) Laurie Smith (geometrical analyst).
