Storm Eunice (Feb 2022) brought down this tall beech tree (pd 1860) in an older part of the woodland.

This tree was was obviously suffering from fungal decay and failed in spiral grain mode.

The trunk will will be left to rot on the ground and the stump to provide woodpecker habitat.
