The Domestic Buildings Research Group (Surrey) recently requested information to be provided featuring yew wood used in the construction of timber-framed buildings.

In a small North Hampshire thatched barn :-

I saw curly grained and burl yew wood used to make timber-frame building components.

The curly grained yew was seen to have been used to make a corner jowl post -

and the burl grained yew to make an in line post -
