Oxfordshire Woodland Group

The Oxfordshire Woodland Group is greatly sadened by news of the death of Professor Oliver Rackham (75) on 12th February 2015. He was the author of many books on the English countryside and especially ancient woodland and management practice. An excellent obituary has been posted on The Guardian web site by Peter Grubb.

Professor Rackham's funeral will take place on Tuesday 3 March at 2pm in the College Chapel, Corpus Christie, Cambridge. A significant number of people are expected to attend his funeral and so the service will be relayed to the Hall. Please be seated by 1.45pm.

All are invited to refreshments after the service in the Master’s Lodge and in the Hall

There will be a book of condolence opened in the Chapel.
