Cruck 2 is laid out in a timber stack with each of the components carefully lined and levelled over the reference lines marked on the spot boards.

The plumb bob is used to line up each of the components over the reference lines marked on the spot boards.

The cruck spur and collar are lined up over the cruck blade and are then marked using the plumb bob, dividers and awl to acurately transfer and scribe joint locations.
