At long last scribing of the mortice and tenon joints that connect the cross sills to the long sills is underway.

The sills are by no means straight or square and so each joint has to be scribed using a plumb line (green in pic) to create an absolute vertical datum from which deviations are measured using dividers with the gaps measured being transferred to the mating point on the corresponding surface.


For example, the gap at "A" between the plumb line and the face of the long sill is transferred to "A" on the side face of the cross sill.
