By Mid February 2014 the snowdrops on the woodland bank are in full flower making a cheery sight for passers bye.

Close up they are delight to behold.

Hedge laying is about to start above the bank and so we will be able to enjoy the approaching springtime even if this is somewhat soggy this year (2014).

I note this year (05 March 2015) that there appears to be an extraordinary number of snowdrops on display on the roadside verges and so I stopped to photograph a group of these growing on a former purpresture garden site.

A close up view reveals the beauty of these plants.

It has been mooted that these plants tend to be found on former gypsy / traveller / seasonal agricultural worker sites and that they were cultivated for sale in nearby towns.

Hidden away from public gaze in a little dell this patch of snowdrops acting as harbingers of spring makes a welcome appearance in mid February 2024g.
