Everybody seems to get upset when they see felling.

I suppose that people get concerned because they might not necessarily know just how many or what type of trees will be felled and they might also feel that unwanted change is being forced upon them without having any real effective say on what is happening. Felling trees is a natural part of woodland management and demonstrates that the owner is actively engaged and involved in the management of that woodland.

Major tree felling programmes (in excess of 5 cubic metres per quarter) requires the prior approval of the Forestry Comission and public consultation is a routine part of that process in order for an owner to obtain a felling licence

Is there really a public consultation before the Forestry grant a felling license?
