A visit to a working farm to see a demo of thinning woodland using an Alpine Tractor & Mini Forwarder.

Linkage driven firewood splitting machines will be demonstrated together with hand coppicing of hazel.

There will be a quick tour of walnut orchard and a visit to a managed amenity wood to observe the results of management and use of thinnings for firewood beginning and ending in the warmth of Nicholsons Nurseries working biomass boiler heating multiple buildings at North Aston, Oxon.
Case studies, info boards, discussion …
Lunch included.
